May is here, and this coming weekend looks to be a busy one. Events are lined up all over the county with many markets, fundraisers, derby themed events, charity fundraisers and Mother's Day celebrations starting early. The City of Palm Coast is hosting it's annual Arbor Day event this coming Saturday, on May 6th, 2023 from 9am to 1pm. Small Business Expo Hosted by Palm Coast’s Chamber of Commerce

Yesterday, Saturday April 29th, 2023, the Palm Coast Chamber of Commerce hosted their small business expo. The expo had been postponed previously due to inclement weather; however yesterday's forecast held up allowing the event to unfold as planned. Vendors, food trucks and small businesses lined the entire pathway of Central Park in Town Center. The event was open to any small business, both chamber members and non members; Chamber members had tags on their tents to identify themselves as members. Palm Coast Hosts Art Festival at Palm Coast Art Foundation

Today Palm Coast Parks and Rec hosted an art festival at the Palm Coast Art Foundation located at 1500 Central Avenue.  Vendors set up around the venue, from 11 am to 3 pm.  These festivals are a great place to support local vendors, businesses and even nonprofits.   Vendors had the chance to sell their artistic creations to event goers throughout the afternoon. Palm Coast parks and rec had a booth at the festival to highlight city activities, programs and amenities to residents as they passed through the vendor tents.

The 2023 Flagler County Library Book Fest was held on Saturday, April 29 from 10 am - 2 pm. Keynote speaker was Tim Baker, a Rhode Island native who now calls Palm Coast home.  His book, Backseat to Justice, is about Florida P.I. Steve Salem who is hired to follow an unfaithful husband. When his mark is executed before Steve's eyes he assumes the case, and his fee, are history - until the widow hires him to solve the murder. The story of Jax is one of heartache and happy endings. Jax was initially starved and beaten by his owner. SMART was notified of the situation and went to pick up him. When SMART made it to Jax, that is when they discovered that he was unable to stand more than 4-5 seconds before he fell over; due to his frail nature and malnourished state of being. April 28th, 2023, at roughly 3:30 am, FCSO responded to the Shell Gas Station on SR100 in regards to a robbery. The reporting party stated that a black male came into the store and demanded all of the money in the register. He alluded to having a gun, but never showed the weapon. A 15 year old FPC student was arrested after he threatened to kill two other students on Snapchat on April 25th. One of the students brought the Snapchat photo to school administration who involved the School Resource Deputy. It is believed that the photo was in response to potential bullying.
