Radiation Oncologist Dr. Irfan Ahmed Joins AdventHealth

Radiation oncologist Dr. Irfan Ahmed has joined AdventHealth Medical Group and will care for Flagler and St. Johns patients with cancer at AdventHealth Palm Coast. As an AdventHealth Medical Group team member, Ahmed joins more than 400 health care providers, including 250 primary care physicians and specialists in Flagler, Lake and Volusia counties. A board-certified radiation oncologist, he earned his medical degree at the University of Mysore and completed a residency in internal medicine at UPMC McKeesport in Pennsylvania and fellowship in radiation oncology at the University of South Florida at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. AdventHealth Names Chief Nursing Officer for Flagler County

AdventHealth has named Kristen Sutton as chief nursing officer (CNO) at AdventHealth Palm Coast and AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway, effective Jan. 28. The role will serve AdventHealth’s Flagler/St. Johns market and will have operational oversight for both hospitals in Flagler County. With 20 years of nursing experience, Sutton brings a wealth of knowledge in executive nursing, administration, quality improvement, clinical care coordination, training, and leadership development. August 9, 2023 – When two famous athletes suffer cardiac arrest within seven months of each other – notably NFL player Damar Hamlin and University of Southern California basketball player Bronny James (son of LeBron James) – coaches at all levels take notice. AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway Facility Opens August 2nd

Today, August 2nd, 2023, the second AdventHealth Hospital on Palm Coast Parkway opened to the public and began to see patients. This new hospital is 158,000 sq.ft. has 100 beds which doubles the inpatient capacity in Flagler County and nearly doubles the emergency department services in the area. AdventHealth Unveils New Cancer Center Project; Freytag Health Plaza

AdventHealth unveiled their plans to build a new health plaza next to the hospital on SR-100 this morning, July 11th, 2023. Advent explained the building and it's uses, along with their plans. They plan to break ground on the project sometime later this year, and project estimated completion to be before the end of 2024. It’s a good thing to know – “whether you’re a brother or whether you’re a mother” – the Bee Gees song “Stayin’ Alive” is precisely the right rhythm for performing CPR, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the emergency procedure that can help save a life when breathing or the heart stops.
