Meet Nelly, a sweet dog who was brought to a vet office for euthanasia due to severe skin issues and a mass on her back. The Shores Animal Hospital chose to reach out to SMART before euthanizing, to see if this dog could be helped. Since SMART has become involved, Nelly is now receiving treatment for her skin, and working towards a surgery to remove the mass on her back.
Sarah VanHeusen stepped up to be a temporary foster for Nelly, making sure she is getting the care she needs to recover until a more permanent foster was found.
