Caroline Johnson, Annie Conrad, and Mike Lagana with SMART have worked for weeks to try and catch a stray dog that had been living in the woods for weeks possibly longer. The dog was in danger of being hurt and had been killing chickens; there was no luck in finding an owner. Abandoned Dog, Slate, Needs Community Support and Assistance

Meet Slate, a dog who had been abandoned along a highway. Five individuals called the SMART "lost animal" county hotline when they saw the dog running on the highway. SMART was able to find a foster family for the dog and now the medical needs must be tackled. Slate currently needs to be de-wormed, get him up to date on his vaccines, tackle the heart worms infesting his heart, and he will need a surgery so he can be neutered. Abandoned Dog Finds ‘Furever’ Home and Lots of Love

SMART of Flagler County was notified about a dog who had been dumped and was extremely skittish. SMART went about setting a trap and a camera up in the area he had been seen.  After 2 days they finally caught a glimpse of him on camera; and noticed he was a master at escaping the traps they set for him.
