December 26th through the 30th of 2022 the FCSO, the FBPD, and the BPD teamed up with Waste Pro and Flagler County to host a Christmas Box Drop off event. This event us to help prevent theft during the holidays. By providing a public location for residents to drop off boxes, it helps thieves from seeing who received what over the holidays.
The event was a huge success and the drop off event collected nearly 2,000lbs of cardboard. This helps thwart burglars because these marked boxes are not sitting in front of homes. Sheriff Staly said, “Thank you to Flagler Beach PD, Bunnell PD and Waste Pro for helping to make this crime prevention initiative a success and allowing our residents to have a safer holiday season!”
