FLDOE Boosts Matanzas to an “A,” and “B’s” for Buddy Taylor Middle and Bunnell Elementary
For the first time in nearly a decade, Flagler Schools have achieved a benchmark that proves the district is truly heading “Flagler Forward.”
“It’s been nine years since the district can tout that all nine of their primary and secondary schools have achieved either an “A” or a “B” grade in the Florida Department of Education’s (FDOE) Annual Grading Process. The District’s overall grade was a “B” I am here with some exciting news,” Superintendent LaShakia Moore said in a video released from the Superintendent’s Office. “Today, the State of Florida released school
and district grades. And I am here to say that for the first time in nine years, all of our schools are rated an “A” or “B”.
Learning gains and achievements in English, science, and mathematics resulted in improved school scores at three schools: Buddy Taylor Middle School (now a “B” school), Bunnell Elementary School (now a “B” school), and Matanzas High School (now an “A” school). The other schools held their 2023 grades but made improvements in multiple categories.
The 2024 grades for all Flagler District’s schools are:
● Buddy Taylor Middle School: B (2023, C)
● Bunnell Elementary School: B (2023, C)
● Rymfire Elementary School: B (2023, B)
● Imagine School at Town Center: B (2023, B)
● Matanzas High School: A (2023, B)
● Flagler-Palm Coast High School: B (2023, B)
● Lewis E. Wadsworth Elementary: B (2023, B)
● Old Kings Elementary: A (2023, A)
● Belle Terre Elementary School: B (2023, B)
● Indian Trails Middle School: A (2023, A)
Superintendent Moore praised the “…hard work of our faculty, staff, and students and the amazing support of this great community.” “I am so excited to get started with this school year,” Superintendent Moore said. “This is exactly the momentum we need to go after being an “A” district. You hear it said, but now we get to see it. This is Flagler Forward!”
