Towers to Tunnels Foundation was started in memory of Stephen Siller. A New York Firefighter who, on his day off on September 11th, 2001, geared up in full firefighter gear, and raced through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnels, all the way to the towers to help rescue people.  He later gave up his life while working to save people at the towers. The foundation raises money to help with many different programs, supporting communities across the country. February 2, 2023 – Firefighters are making headway on the mulch fire at Arrow Materials near Favoretta after employing new strategies to extinguish it that include dismantling it into smaller and more manageable piles that are directly impacted by the water from the water resources set up around the perimeter.
