Temporary Playground Closure as Palm Coast Enhances Holland Park Splash Pad

The City of Palm Coast is pleased to announce that concrete pouring should commence at James F. Holland Memorial Park Splash Pad, marking a critical progression in the park’s repair. However, this key phase of the project will require us to temporarily close certain areas of the park to maintain public safety.

Temporary Closures:

  • Playground Area: Closed from Monday, May 6th, to Wednesday, May 8th, 2024. The closure is required to operate concrete pouring equipment safely over the playground area. After moving the construction equipment, we plan to reopen the playground on Wednesday, May 8th.
  • Parking Area: The right section of the parking area will also be temporarily closed. Please follow the detour route past the dog park to access the sports fields and other facilities.

While the playground is closed, we urge residents to explore other playgrounds available throughout the city. The closest alternative playground can be found at the Palm Coast Community Center located at 305 Palm Coast Pkwy NE, Palm Coast, FL 32137.

The splash pad has been closed since fall 2021 to address safety concerns due to wear and tear. After careful coordination with the original contractors and the aid of external legal counsel, we are on track to complete the necessary repairs by July 2024. This project will not only enhance safety but also bring back the fun and inviting atmosphere of the splash pad.

The City appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation during these improvements. For more details on the construction schedule and park access, visit https://www.palmcoast.gov/parks-and-recreation/projects.
