Two Arrested After Traffic Stop Yields Narcotics

On Saturday morning, Deputy Dorsey conducted a traffic stop on a silver sedan with an Alabama tag on I-95 at mile marker 293. The driver was identified as Ronald Lewis, 35, and the passenger as Nolan Burton, 36.

Upon checking Lewis’s license, FCSO Dispatch advised Deputy Dorsey that Lewis’s license had been suspended in Alabama. Lewis admitted he knew it might be suspended. He also told Deputy Dorsey he had a small amount of marijuana in a backpack. The passenger, Burton, told Deputy Dorsey his license was suspended. He also had approximately 4 grams of Methamphetamine and a glass pipe in his possession.

Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility (SPHIDF). Burton was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Methamphetamines and was released on $3,000 bond. Lewis was arrested for Knowingly Driving Without a License, and Possession of Marijuana (less than 20 grams). Lewis was released from jail on a $500 bond.
