Unincorporated areas of Flagler County may start to see Hurricane Milton vegetative debris pickup as early as today (Monday). Work is scheduled to begin in the publicly maintained right of ways along the John Anderson and Old Kings Road corridors.
In general, the plan is to pick up vegetative materials in the eastern areas of the county – coastal and inland – and work westward. This will allow additional time for the west side residents who were subjected to prolonged periods of flooding in the western reaches of Flagler County to bring their vegetative debris curbside, as the water has not receded enough in some areas for them to do so now.
The pickup may take a few weeks, and the schedule will be dynamic and likely change dependent on the contractor progress area by area. Additional details will be released as they become available.
For municipal residents, check with your city or town for details.
Important Reminders:
- Separate debris – keep regular household garbage apart from storm debris
- Storm debris should also be separated –
- Vegetation
- Construction and demolition materials
- Appliances
- Electronics
- Place debris without blocking driveways, roadways, mailboxes, or utility poles
- Avoid obstructing ditches to prevent flooding.
This pickup information is for vegetative debris (tree branches, lawn clippings, logs, plants) only.
