Saturday September 9th, 2023, the NLA Booster Club held their first annual fundraiser to help their student athletes cover the cost of training and competitions.  The NLA Booster Club is a Florida Domestic Non-profit based out of Ormond Beach.

The event started at 3pm, and ran until 8pm. Food vendors, bounce houses and other vendors were also present to help support the students while serving the event attendees.

This was the first time the group has held an event like this. We had the chance to talk to the current president of the NLA Booster Club, Mikaela Wooten. “We are really just raising money so that our athletes can compete in their sport. We have our cheerleaders that are really dedicated and put in a lot of work. It costs a lot of money for them to train and to compete. So we are raising money so families can have their children in the sport.”

While discussing the concept behind the Boots and Bows event, as well as the NLA Booster Club itself, we wanted to confirm whether this in fact would become an annual event. “We keep referring to next year, so that is something we are very hopeful for,” according to Wooten.
