May 11th, 2023, FCSO received a call that a woman was riding a bicycle going against the traffic on East SR-100 which almost caused multiple accidents. More calls came in while deputies were in route, that the woman was keying vehicles as she rode by them.

Deputy Punsky found the woman and attempted a traffic stop in the area of Aviation Drive and East SR-100. The woman fled into the field off Aviation drive.

Deputy Punsky was able to detain the woman and take her into custody, although the woman was actively resisting the attempts to restrain her. The FCSO Real Time Crime Center was able to live stream the entire altercation and relay information to back up units while Deputy Punsky attempted to control the woman.

The woman continued to violently resist attempts to detain, and attempted to stab deputy Punsky in the leg multiple times with a sharp Fix-a-Flat tool. Deputies were able to detain the woman after they used their agency issued Taser. All deputies remained uninjured despite the woman’s multiple attempts to stab.

The woman was later identified as Bree Ann Gadoury and was arrested for Fleeing with the Intent to Elude Law Enforcement, Resisting an Officer with Violence, Aggravated Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer and two counts of Criminal Mischief.

“We are very fortunate that a Deputy was not seriously hurt during this encounter by a violent offender who was trying to stab our deputies,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Another great job by our Real Time Crime Center using our technology to provide real-time updates to responding deputies. I promise you this, attacking a Deputy Sheriff who is just doing their job will get you in jail every time and will not be tolerated. Thankfully deputies were able to use their Taser to stop her attack.”
