Deputy Jeckovich made a traffic stop on Old Kings and Palm Coast Parkway Tuesday evening. During the traffic stop when Deputy Jeckovich was attempting to identify the driver, he discovered that the driver had an active warrant out for his arrest from Volusia County.
The driver, identified as 37 yr-old Elijah Schaeffer from DeLand, was arrested due to the warrant. His vehicle was search by deputies, who found narcotics, guns and weapons. 14 grams of presumptive methamphetamine, 15.82 grams of presumptive heroin, 16.4 grams of presumptive fentanyl, 21.35 grams of presumptive cocaine, and 12 grams of Adderall. They also found a Black SCCY CPX-2 9 mm handgun, a black Glock 17 9 mm handgun, Two silver Rough N Rowdy handguns, a Black baton, and a silver knife. Deputies also found various drug paraphernalia, including scales, and ten cell phones.
It was later determined that Schaeffer is a convicted felon for Robbery with Gun or Deadly Weapon from 2007. He was arrested and charged with Trafficking Heroin, Trafficking Fentanyl, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Weapon while Committing a First Degree Felony, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Sell/Manufacture/Distribute, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Sell/Manufacture/Distribute, Possession of Amphetamine with Intent to Sell/Manufacture/Distribute, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia/Equipment, Driving with License Suspended, and the Volusia County warrant. “Great proactive policing by Deputy Jeckovich,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “This poison peddler made the mistake of coming to Flagler County with his smorgasbord of illegal drugs, scales, and guns, and now he is in the Green Roof Inn where he belongs. The next stop should be prison!”
