Florida Highway Patrol, Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, Bunnell Police Department, and Flagler Beach Police Department, all teamed up to launch “Operation Wreck-LESS”. The program’s first day was February 9th, 2023. They are working together to target behavior like distracted driving, speeding, and intersection violations in an effort to help reduce vehicle accidents in our area.
“We hope this initiative will help to reduce crashes in Flagler County. Please be mindful of your speed and remember not to text and drive,” Sheriff Staly said.
UPDATE #1 – The involved agencies made a total of 148 traffic stops, made 100 warnings, and issued 50 Uniform Traffic Citations. Sheriff Staly made a comment on the results of day one, “I want to thank our enforcement partners for their high visibility enforcement. Sadly, we ended the day with a traffic fatality that likely could have been avoided. Remember, Don’t drive ‘wreck-less’!”
