Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies made 12 arrests this past weekend between 6 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025, and 6 a.m. on Monday, September 9, 2025. Deputies handled 563 calls for service and made 106 traffic stops.
Deputy Stops Shoplifting at Walgreens
On Sunday evening, a deputy was inside Walgreens on State Road 100 in Palm Coast when she observed and stopped a shoplifting in progress. As the deputy watched, a female, later identified as Mia-Alexa Richardson, 36, of Daytona Beach, removed items from their packaging and placed them in her pants. The deputy then observed Richardson tossing the packaging, at which point she confronted her.
As the deputy approached Richardson, she exited the store, ignoring the deputy’s commands to stop. The deputy then grabbed Richardson’s arm, at which point Richardson began actively resisting and trying to pull away. When the deputy ordered Richardson to put her hands behind her back, she refused to do so and continued to resist. Backup quickly arrived, and deputies were then able to secure her.
During the investigation, deputies determined that Richardson had attempted to steal 10 cosmetics items by taking them out of the package and concealing them in her pants.
Deputies arrested Richardson for petit theft – shoplifting and resisting an officer without violence. She was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where she was later released on a $650 bond. She was also trespassed upon by the store.

“This woman deserves the dumb criminal of the week award for trying to shoplift right in front of a deputy sheriff,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Then, when she was caught, she tried to get away and added another charge for resisting arrest. Deputies got her under control, found the makeup she stuffed in her pants, and took her to the Green Roof Inn.”

Deputies Recover Stolen Vehicle, Make Two Arrests
On Sunday night, deputies responded to the Circle K gas station on Cypress Point Parkway in Palm Coast after receiving information that a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle stolen from Clay County was seen at the gas pumps.
When deputies arrived, they located the vehicle, a light blue Honda Accord, with two occupants inside. Deputies ordered the occupants to exit the vehicle, which they did without incident, and placed them under arrest. Deputies identified the driver as Aalac’hia Wise, 23, of Jacksonville, and the passenger as Martin Dixon, 33, of Hollywood, Florida.
When speaking with deputies, Dixon attempted to give multiple explanations for possessing the stolen car, initially stating the vehicle belonged to his girlfriend and he had paid her to use the car. However, he later stated he had paid off the vehicle in his girlfriend’s name and was supposed to drop it off at a dealership in Orange Park.

Deputies arrested both occupants for grand theft of a motor vehicle. Additionally, deputies determined that Wise only had an identification card, not a valid driver’s license, and arrested her for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. Dixon and Wise were both transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where they are being held on $2,500 and $3,000 bond, respectively.
“It took only four minutes from the moment our deputies were notified this stolen vehicle was spotted in our county to the moment they put the suspects in handcuffs and recovered the stolen car,” said Sheriff Staly. “I commend our deputies for their quick action. More offenders learned the hard way not to commit a crime and come to Flagler County, as you will always visit the Green Roof Inn wearing new jewelry.”
