W- Section Palm Coast Man Arrested after Killing his Dog by Shooting

February 27th, Monday, Deputies responded to a call at 256 Westhampton Dr. in Palm Coast. A man, who is identified as Robert Williams, said his home was broken into and his dog had been killed in the process. The deputies found a deceased German Shephard, which had been shot in the head, at the location. FCSO Major Case Unit arrived at the scene to investigate. The home had Ring surveillance which deputies were able to pull footage from. It appeared that only Williams had been inside the home, and the only one who was armed.  No signs of struggles, or…

Cathy Greene and I sat down, and I got to hear the story of how Krewe of the 13 came to be. 7 years ago a group of 13 pirates who were part of a St. Augustine pirate crew, peeled off to start their own crew. Over the course of this weekend, the FCSO apprehended two fugutives, made 17 arrests, handled 894 calls for service, and made 142 traffic stops. “This was another busy weekend for Flagler County deputies,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “The first hot weather weekend of the year caused some people to think they can commit crime in our county. FCSO Community Policing Division Chief Jonathon Welker has joined the 1% of law enforcement officers that receive an invitation for the FBI's National Academy in Quantico, Virginia in April of 2023. “This is a great honor for Chief Welker and the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “The FBI National Academy is considered the ‘West Point’ of law enforcement. Two Arrested for Trafficking Narcotics, Following Traffic Stop in Mondex

February 23rd, the FCSO's District 2 deputies initiated a traffic stop in the area of Walnut Av3e, and Beech Boulevard, in the Mondex of Bunnell. The initiated contact with ta man and woman in a vehicle who were eventually identified as Anthony Pezza and Tiffany Chapman. After being told to exit the vehicle both Pezza and Chapman were asked if they had any narcotics in their possession, they denied having any. The deputies conducted a search of the vehicle based on probable cause, and found various drugs, and paraphernalia that included bags, scales and prescription bottles without labels. It was…

On Febraury 22nd, Sheriff Staly met with the three kids who were chosen as November's "Great Kid". The awards are delayed in the presentations due to last years hurricanes and holidays. February 23, 2023 – Flagler County officials are advising residents that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is to hold a public meeting at 5:30 p.m. March 1 (Wednesday) about project plans on State Road 11 from the Volusia County border to U.S. 1 in Bunnell. February 22, 2023 – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), in conjunction with Flagler County government, has scheduled office hours to address emergency permitting for necessary temporary and permanent repairs of coastal structures due to the impacts from hurricanes Ian and Nicole.
