Flagler County Library and Embry Riddle’s ROTC hosted a White table ceremony today to honor and remember members of all five military branches who are and were missing in action or prisoners of war.
The emotional ceremony started off with a detailed explanation of all of the table ware, down to the table cloth and what each small and intricate piece means. Following the explanation, the cadet listed each individual branch of the military, as the rest of the cadets were making their entrance carrying a cover in remembrance of each branch. The hats were placed around the place setting and the candle that was previously lit, was blown out. Attendees could feel the emotion of the ceremony, and some were moved to tears.
There was a meet and greet with the ROTC cadets following this brief yet solemn event.
