For Immediate Release
Timing is everything. Right now, it isn’t good for Freedom Fest. Next March holds much greater promise.
“Between ongoing projects at the Flagler Executive Airport and Hurricane Ian taking a huge toll all across the State of Florida, the timing isn’t right,” said Airport Director Roy Sieger late Monday after making the decision to postpone the event. “I believe having the extra time will allow us to hold an event that is better than ever.”
The new date is March 25, 2023.
Freedom Fest is known for static vintage and modern military aircraft and vehicles, warbird flybys, helicopter rides, and plenty of food and beverage vendors. There is something for everyone.
The event was cancelled in 2020 because of COVID-19. Its history goes back to 2010 when the late-March event was known as Wings Over Flagler.
“Although we are postponing the event until late March, we are keeping the name Freedom Fest,” Sieger said. “No matter what time of year we have the event, it’s always appropriate to celebrate the freedoms we have here in the United States and honor the men and women who fought for them.”
