The National Arbor Day Foundation has named Palm Coast Tree City USA for the 18th year in a row, due to it’s urban forestry program.
Tree City USA has been a nationwide movement that started in 1976 to green up cities and towns across the nation.
Over 3,400 communities have committed to becoming Tree City USA by meeting four core standards of urban forestry management. They must maintain a tree board or department, have a community tree ordinance, spend at least $2 per capita on urban forestry and celebrate Arbor Day. Palm Coast met the criteria for 2023.
“Palm Coast prides itself in preserving and protecting the local environment for its sustainability, beauty and recreational benefits,” said Carol Mini. “Residents of this community are proud to live in a place that makes the planting and care of trees a priority,” she emphasized.
