Flagler County Commissioner Andy Dance has been recognized by CareerSource Brevard Flagler Volusia for his leadership and advocacy on the organization’s Tri-County Consortium, the official governing body responsible for overseeing the regional workforce agency and ensuring compliance with federal and state workforce policies.

Dance’s Role on the Consortium

Dance joined the Tri-County Consortium when it was formed in 2024, following the expansion of the former Flagler-Volusia model to include Brevard County as a third partner. Since joining, he has been involved in several key initiatives, including the creation and expansion of CareerSource Talent Hubs, the development of strategic educational partnerships, and federal advocacy efforts to protect workforce funding.

Dance reflected on what the transition required and who helped make it work. “The transition from a Flagler-Volusia model to a Tri-County Consortium with Brevard was not a simple expansion — it required aligning priorities, governance, and expectations across three distinct communities,” Dance said. “That kind of collaboration only works when you have strong regional partners and committed local leadership. I’m especially grateful for Flagler County’s representatives on the CareerSource Board — Erica Flores of Vincent’s Clubhouse, Renee Swaggerty of Flagler Technical College/Flagler Schools, and Joe Wright of Quantum Electrical Contractors — who play a critical role in guiding workforce development efforts and ensuring our local priorities are reflected in the work of CareerSource Brevard Flagler Volusia.”

Recognition from Consortium Leadership

Lloyd Gregg, Vice President at PTX-LLC Workforce Development and Chairman of the CSBFV Tri-County Consortium, credited Dance and other consortium members for their collaborative work. “Their partnership has enabled us to maximize our support to stakeholders across the communities we serve and achieve outcomes that would not be possible without their ongoing commitment,” Gregg said.

Flagler County Expansion

Among Dance’s contributions was helping facilitate the approval of a Memorandum of Understanding between CareerSource and Flagler Technical College at the Carver Center — a key step in expanding the Talent Hub model into Flagler County. He remained actively engaged throughout that process.
