A Bunnell drug dealer is back in jail after the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office arrested him Wednesday on a felony warrant following a narcotics investigation that resulted in the seizure of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

FCSO’s Fugitive Unit, SIU, and PACE took Edward G. Sampson, 32, of Bunnell, into custody shortly before 2 p.m. on an active felony warrant. He was already out on bond for a separate drug case.
The warrant for Sampson’s arrest was issued following an Aug. 26 search of Sampson’s home on South Church Street in Bunnell. Inside his bedroom, detectives found marijuana, cocaine, a digital scale and a suboxone strip.
When deputies arrested Sampson on Wednesday, they searched him and found a pink drawstring bag tucked in a cargo pocket of his pants. Inside was about 3.2 grams of a crystal-like substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, along with 16 oxycodone pills weighing roughly eight grams.
Sampson is no stranger to law enforcement. He has served five separate sentences in Florida state prison, with his most recent release in May 2025. His record includes convictions for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, robbery, felony battery, grand theft, fleeing from law enforcement, and multiple drug charges.
“It was no surprise that Sampson was dealing drugs while he was out on bond. His rap sheet is longer than U.S. 1,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “This dirtbag has been arrested more than 35 times and was sent to state prison five times for crimes ranging from drug possession to aggravated battery. No bond conditions or community control is going to stop him from drug trafficking, stealing things, and assaulting people. It’s time we put this career criminal in prison to rot.”
Deputies arrested Sampson for trafficking in oxycodone, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, In AP style, the initialism driving while license suspended, and eight counts of possession of controlled substance. He was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he is being held on no bond.
