City officials say the Community Development Department has been reorganized, and the changes include removing six positions.
According to the City, the restructure is meant to bring day-to-day operations in line with the budget direction set by the City Council. Officials said the reorganization is intended to run the department more efficiently and keep it ready to provide high-quality service to residents.
The positions being eliminated are Code Enforcement Manager, Animal Control Officer, Temporary Staff Assistant, Land Management Coordinator, Landscape Architect, and Temporary Animal Control Officer, one position in each case.
The City’s statement also pointed to the effect on employees. Officials said choices like this are difficult and come only after a careful review of operational demands and long-term financial obligations. The City thanked those impacted and said it wished them “the very best.”
