The Florida Department of Education released its latest student test results, and Flagler County Schools reported increases in every subject area tested. According to the results, the district matched or outperformed the state average in all but one category. English Language Arts pass rates climbed 5 points to 63 percent, sitting 2 points above the state average of 61 percent. Math pass rates rose 3 points to 64 percent, also 3 points higher than the state average of 61 percent. Grade 5 Science pass rates increased 3 points to 61 percent, one point above the state average of 60 percent. Grade 8 Science saw one of the larger jumps, rising 6 points to 60 percent, which is 3 points higher than the state average of 57 percent. Biology End-of-Course exam pass rates increased 5 points to 76 percent, beating the state average of 74 percent, and U.S. History EOC pass rates rose 3 points to 73 percent, matching the state average exactly. The one area where Flagler fell slightly behind the state was Civics EOC, where pass rates increased 3 points to 74 percent, two points below the state average of 76 percent.
Flagler Schools Superintendent LaShakia Moore credited the district’s structured approach to continuous improvement as a key driver behind the results. “These results are a testament to the hard work and dedication that students and staff have continued to show year after year,” said Moore. “A major contributing factor was our continuous improvement cycles, which encompassed schoolwide improvement plans, streamlined assessment windows, instructional reviews, and data chats.” District administration noted that school and district grades for the 2025-26 school year are expected to be released by the state within the next two weeks. Those grades will reflect the final, complete numbers across all subject areas for the district.
