A Palm Coast man has been convicted and sentenced to life in prison after a Flagler County jury found him guilty of sexually abusing a juvenile family member over an extended period of time.
Kristopher Henriqson, 48, was arrested in February 2025 following an investigation by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Major Case Unit. Detectives determined he had sexually abused a juvenile family member. On April 15, 2026, a Flagler County jury found Henriqson guilty on 11 counts, including two counts of sexual battery on a person under 12 years of age, four counts of lewd or lascivious molestation on a person under 12, three counts of sexual battery on a person between 12 and 18 years of age by someone in a familial or custodial authority, lewd or lascivious battery of a person between 12 and 16, and lewd or lascivious molestation of a person between 12 and 16.

Circuit Judge Dawn Nichols sentenced Henriqson to multiple life sentences plus an additional 15 years. Under the sentence structure, the 15-year term would only begin after the completion of all life sentences, meaning Henriqson will never leave prison.
Sheriff Rick Staly did not hold back in his response to the verdict and sentencing. “This was a tremendous effort by everyone involved in investigating this case, and our partners at the State Attorney’s Office, to ensure this pervert will never see a day outside of a prison cell again,” Staly said. “I commend the jury for seeing through his antics and making decisions based on the overwhelming facts of the case.” Staly also praised the victim directly, saying he commended “this child for having the strength to come forward.”
Henriqson is currently being held at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility pending transfer to the Florida Department of Corrections. More information about the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office is available at www.flaglersheriff.com.
