City Repertory Theatre is bringing a fresh twist to one of theater’s most celebrated comedies this March, casting three women in roles traditionally played by men for its production of Yasmina Reza’s “Art.”
The play is the sixth production of CRT’s 15th Anniversary season and runs March 20 through March 29, 2026, at 160 Cypress Point Parkway, Suite B-207, in Palm Coast.
About the Play
“Art” is a Tony, Olivier, and Molière Award-winning comedy that centers on three longtime friends whose bond is tested when one of them purchases an expensive all-white painting. As the friends debate whether the piece qualifies as art, deeper tensions and long-held grievances within their relationships begin to surface. The production runs approximately 100 minutes with no intermission.
The original 1998 Broadway production featured Alan Alda, Victor Garber, and Alfred Molina. A 2025 Broadway revival starred Neil Patrick Harris, Bobby Cannavale, and James Corden. CRT’s version departs from tradition by placing three women at the center of the story — audience favorites Sue Pope, Bethany Stillion, and Julia Truilo. Pope previously appeared at CRT as Claire in “Proof,” Stillion as Edith in “Jake’s Women,” and Truilo as Janine in “The Niceties.”
CRT’s Artistic Director John Sbordone expressed his enthusiasm for the production. “I just sit at rehearsals and laugh and laugh,” he said. “Three brilliant actresses, a marvelous script and really engaging social commentary. WOW!”

CRT’s 2025–26 season will close with a double bill featuring Israel Horovitz’s classic “Line” paired with select pieces from David Ives’ “All in the Timing,” running April 24 through May 3, 2026.
