A road rage incident that started on Tuesday has resulted in the arrest of a Palm Coast couple.

At approximately 5:35 p.m. on June 11, Deputy Torres responded to a weapons disturbance that occurred on Palm Coast Parkway NE. FCSO Communications Center received a call from the victim who reported that a male riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle had pointed a firearm at him as a result of a road rage incident. The victim also reported that a female passenger on the motorcycle brandished a baton and that the male smashed his side window.

The victim stated that he was in his work van traveling westbound on the Hammock Dunes Toll Bridge when the incident took place, and that his coworker was behind him in a work van. The male and female subjects reportedly made threats to kill him.

After providing the license plate number of the motorcycle, it was determined to be registered to Gregg Allen Pacheco and Amy Lynette Pacheco, who both reside at a residence on Wasserman Drive in Palm Coast. Deputies went to the address where they observed the motorcycle in the garage of the residence as the garage door was closing. However, they did not see either suspect. Deputies formed a perimeter and made numerous attempts to contact them by announcements, phone calls, and knocking on the front door. 9-1-1 operators also made numerous attempts to call the cellphones of both subjects, resulting in all calls going to voicemail.

With parties separated and the subjects not currently presenting a threat to the public, deputies left but continued the investigation into the incident. FCSO’s Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) assisted with providing video footage of the incident and photo line-ups for both suspects.

The Investigative Services Division (ISD) was notified and assisted in obtaining arrest warrants and a Search Warrant for the residence where evidence was recovered, including two firearms: a Glock 27 .40 Caliber and a Glock 43X 9mm. Both suspects were arrested and then claimed to have medical issues and were transported to the hospital. Investigators interviewed both subjects, who confessed to various elements of the incident.

“The victim in this situation did the right thing by reporting the incident and letting our deputies handle this dangerous situation. Drivers need to remember to control their anger and actions. Road rage will only lead you to the Green Roof Inn, especially if there’s a gun involved,” said Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly.  “Irresponsible and angry drivers have no place in Flagler County. Hopefully they will take our anger management course in the jail or be required to by the court.”
