Due to dry conditions impairing the growth process of the new sod at the small dog park at James F. Holland Memorial Park, the amenity is now slated to be closed for an additional 4 weeks.
The new sod is part is one of several upgrades for the park, which also includes the addition of a 4-foot concrete apron and block wall installation near the northeast area of the park to help control erosion, as well as adjustments and repairs to the irrigation system to ensure new sod receives adequate water. While the new sod has been seeded but will require more time to mature before it can safely withstand the heavy usage of the dogs visiting the park. The park is slated to reopen on Monday, May 27.
While the small dog park is closed, the large one at James F. Holland Memorial Park will remain open. As an alternative, the nearby Lehigh Trailhead at 1290 Belle Terre Pkwy also features both large and small dog park facilities for residents and their canine companions to enjoy.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this renovation process as we strive to make these vital enhancements and create a safe environment for our residents to enjoy.
