The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a Palm Coast man for throwing a golf ball sized rock at another driver during a road rage incident. The rock did hit the victim in the face, which caused minor injuries.
The victim had contacted the FCSO Communications while they were travelling down SR-100 to report that a mid-30s man driving a Ford F-150 had thrown a rock at his vehicle in the intersection of SR-100 and Old Kings Road. The rock had come in through the open window, hitting the windshield and bouncing off the dash to hit the victim in the face.
During the investigation deputies, dispatchers and the FCSO Real Time Crime Center were able to identify and locate the suspect’s vehicle in Flagler Beach. the driver, Peter Cicacci-Blackwell, was arrested for Throwing a Missile into a Vehicle, Criminal Mischief, and Battery-Simple. He was booked and later released on a $16,500 bond.
“Even though it may seem relatively minor, the rock could have caused significant injury,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Drivers need to remember to control their anger and don’t escalate incidents. Call us instead and let our deputies investigate the situation. Otherwise, you will see the inside of the Green Roof Inn and that could have been avoided if you control your anger and actions.”
