A Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Sheriff working for the Problem Area Crime Enforcement (PACE) Unit attempted to pull over a silver Infiniti for a traffic violation on June 20, 2023, around 11:26 p.m. The vehicle failed to stop when the emergency lights and sirens were activated and continued to drive approximately 15 mph before stopping.

The deputy observed a torn open bag on Leslie Brock’s lap and several small white flakes that were consistent with cocaine scattered across his shorts, on his face, and in his beard as the deputy made contact with Leslie Brock, the sole operator of the vehicle.

Brock was repeatedly told to get out of the car, but he ignored every legal order to open the driver’s door and get out. The baggie that had been torn open fell to the ground as Brock was removed from the vehicle.

Brock repeatedly spit out a white substance while he was in custody, which later turned out to be a probable cocaine positive. Brock was taken to Advent Health Palm Coast for further treatment after ingesting a significant amount of narcotics, and emergency medical services were called to the scene. Until Brock receives medical clearance, he remains in Advent Health custody.

Brock was arrested on suspicion of possessing cocaine, tampering with evidence, and resisting arrest without violence. His arrest record that has spanned over the last 15 years includes possession of cocaine, selling a controlled substance, robbery, and brawling in Flagler County.

“This poison peddler could have died while attempting to conceal his narcotics by swallowing them,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “If you get caught with illegal narcotics don’t make things worse by swallowing them. He is lucky to be alive and will be heading to the Green Roof Inn once he is released from the hospital.”
