The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Putnam County Fugitive on Monday afternoon after he was caught shoplifting from the Target in Palm Coast.

Monday the FCSO responded to Target over a Larceny report. When deputies arrived, they saw David Romero, 46, backing out of a spot. He was driving a white truck that matched the suspects description and the the Flagler Sheriff’s Communications Sections advised deputies that the owner of the vehicle was wanted in Putnam County for 3rd Degree Grand Theft.

Deputies made a high risk traffic stop and took Romero into custody. During his arrest, a pink vibrating device fell out of Romero’s pants it was later determined that Romero stole it from Target.

Target provided deputies with surveillance video that showed Romero hiding multiple personal care items in a tan shapewear he had gotten from inside the store. The items included the pink vibrating device that he later dropped, condoms, lubricants and other items. He was seen picking up some food items from the grocery side of the store, and in the checkout section he only paid for the food.

After his arrest, deputies searched his vehicle and found all of the stolen items. Romero was arrested and charged with one count of Petit Theft, and Four counts of 1st Degree Larceny for Property Worth Between $100-$300. He was also arrested on his Putnam County Warrant. He is being held on a $3,000 bond.

If you set foot in Flagler County as a fugitive or to commit a crime, we will find you and arrest you,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “It doesn’t matter where they’re running from, our team is always on alert looking for fugitives and criminals.
