Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to more than 800 calls and made 10 arrests between Friday evening and early Monday morning.

From 6 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026, through 6 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026, Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies handled 836 calls for service, conducted 177 traffic stops, and made 10 total arrests.

Drunk Driver Crashes Multiple Times Before Arrest

One of the most notable cases from the weekend involved a Palm Coast woman arrested in the early morning hours of Saturday after crashing her vehicle multiple times.

At around 2:30 a.m., a citizen called the Flagler County Emergency Communications Center to report a driver who nearly hit them head-on. The caller followed the vehicle and reported it going off the road multiple times, striking a culvert, a fence, and a mailbox. Deputies were already responding to a separate reckless driving report when the call came in.

CHACON PERLA MUG

Deputies located the vehicle on Elder Street in Bunnell, where driver Perla Chacon, 23, was attempting to turn around in a driveway. As a deputy approached, Chacon reversed the vehicle into a ditch. Deputies observed that she had glassy and watery eyes, slurred speech, a strong odor of alcohol on her breath, and a shirt that appeared stained with vomit. When asked about the damage to her vehicle, Chacon told deputies “it has been like that.”

Chacon failed a series of field sobriety exercises. Breath tests taken at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility showed a blood alcohol content of 0.172 and 0.167 — both well above Florida’s legal limit of 0.08.

“This woman clearly should not have been driving and was almost three-times the legal limit in Florida,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “She’s lucky the only things she hit was a fence and a mailbox and that nobody was hurt. If you’re drinking it is dangerous and irresponsible to drive. Have a designated driver, call for a ride home. If you get behind the wheel of a car impaired, you will see some new bars at the Green Roof Inn.”

Chacon was charged with DUI, three counts of DUI with property damage, and three counts of leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage. She was later released from the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility on a $4,450 bond.

Man with Suspended License Gives Deputy a False Name

Early Sunday morning, deputies arrested a Palm Coast man for driving on a suspended license after he tried to identify himself as someone else.

At approximately 3:45 a.m., a deputy pulled over a vehicle at the intersection of White Mill Drive and White View Parkway in Palm Coast after the driver failed to stop at a stop sign. The driver told the deputy he had left his license at home and gave the name Nahum Malvoisin with a date of birth. However, the deputy noticed the photo in the system did not match the person in front of him.

Through further investigation, the deputy identified the driver as Mardochee Malvoisin Jr., 36, who had a suspended license and three prior convictions for driving on a suspended license. A glass pipe with burnt narcotics residue was also found in his pocket during the arrest.

“This guy knows he shouldn’t be driving, but he keeps driving anyway,” said Sheriff Staly. “He even tried to lie to the deputy using someone else’s name who had a valid license. Using a false name and lying to a deputy only gets you more charges.”

Malvoisin was charged with driving while license suspended as a third or subsequent violation, providing a false name to law enforcement, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released from the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility on a $4,500 bond. His prior record also includes arrests on out-of-county warrants, domestic battery, and violation of probation.
