For the first time in their histories, the Palm Coast Lions Club and the Rotary Club of Flagler County have partnered together on a community initiative. Their first joint effort, called the Falcon Fuel Donation Drive, aims to help college students in Flagler County who are struggling with food insecurity.

The drive benefits students at Daytona State College’s Flagler/Palm Coast Campus through the school’s Falcon HOPE Center and its Falcon Fuel program, which provides food resources to students who need them. The campaign runs through May 30, 2026, and welcomes both food donations and financial contributions from the community.
Rotary Club of Flagler County President Michelle Bartlome said the partnership represents what community service should look like. “This collaboration reflects what community service is supposed to look like,” Bartlome said. “When organizations come together, we don’t just add impact — we multiply it.”
Palm Coast Lions Club President Shara Brodsky said the two clubs see this as the start of something larger. “This is just the beginning,” Brodsky said. “By combining our efforts, we’re creating a stronger, more unified approach to serving our community. We’re proud to stand alongside Rotary and look forward to many more joint initiatives ahead.”

Both clubs say food insecurity among college students is often overlooked but can be a serious obstacle to finishing school. The Falcon Fuel program is designed to reduce that barrier so students can focus on their coursework rather than where their next meal is coming from.
Community members who want to help can view a list of needed items through the Falcon HOPE Center’s Amazon Wish List at https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2LFGW7N9OGOJY, where items can be purchased and shipped directly to the campus. Donations can also be mailed or delivered in person to Daytona State College – Falcon Fuel, Flagler/Palm Coast Campus, 3000 Palm Coast Parkway S.E., Palm Coast, FL 32137.
Both organizations say they plan to continue working together on future service projects in the Flagler County area beyond this initial drive.
