Cathy Moon’s candidacy is officially eligible to move forward after her campaign met the required number of voter signatures.
Cathy Moon, who is running for the Flagler County School Board in District 1, announced that her candidate petition has been officially certified by the Supervisor of Elections office. The certification confirms that her campaign collected enough signatures from registered voters to qualify for the next stage of the election process.
“I’m grateful to every resident who signed my petition and to the volunteers who helped make this certification possible. This step confirms that our campaign has real momentum, and I’m ready to keep listening, learning, and earning the community’s trust.”
With the petition stage complete, Moon says her campaign will shift its focus to meeting with families, educators, and community members across the district. She has outlined several key areas she plans to address, including student achievement, school safety, responsible budgeting, teacher hiring and retention, and parent engagement.
Moon points to a background in federal government work as a central part of her qualifications. She says she has experience managing a budget of more than $200 million and has written national policy in her role as an executive at a federal agency. She holds a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree in business administration. She also ran a small business from 2018 through 2024.
Her campaign describes its core focus as accountability and excellence in the school district.
