The City of Palm Coast has opened a national search for its next Deputy City Manager, a senior executive position that will work alongside City Manager Mike McGlothlin to help guide daily operations and long-term strategy for one of Florida’s fastest-growing communities.

About the Position

The Deputy City Manager will work closely with the City Manager and city leadership to oversee internal operations, support budget and policy development, collaborate with City Council and community stakeholders, and help implement strategic projects aimed at improving efficiency and the quality of city services. The role is described as integral to aligning citywide initiatives across all departments.

McGlothlin outlined what kind of leader the city is looking for. “Palm Coast is truly a city on the rise,” he said. “We are looking for a collaborative, solutions-oriented leader who is ready to make a meaningful impact. Someone who can help us continue delivering high-quality services while enhancing the lifestyle our residents value.”

Who Should Apply

The city is looking for candidates with at least seven years of executive-level experience and a background in public administration or a related field. Strong organizational and communication skills, a proven ability to lead complex operations, and a genuine interest in public service are among the qualities the city is seeking.
