The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office recognized three local students for their academic achievements, kindness, and leadership as part of the monthly “Great Kid” Award program.

On January 15, members of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office visited schools across the county to present Sheriff Rick Staly’s “Great Kid” Award to students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Investigative Services Division Chief Agustin Rodriguez, Youth Services Section Commander Jennifer Nawrocki, and School Resource Unit Sergeant Shane Meehan presented the December 2025 awards alongside school resource deputies.

The monthly awards honor students who respect their peers, help others, work hard in school, and represent themselves and their school well. School resource deputies and school employees nominate the recipients.

“We’re pleased to continue to recognize our county’s students who go above and beyond,” said Sheriff Staly. “These students excel academically, take initiative, and make their schools a better place. They have bright futures and are well-deserving of recognition.”

Bodhi Rivers, a second grader at Belle Terre Elementary School, received the elementary school award for the kindness and respect he displays daily. Those who nominated him said Rivers “is a hardworking, respectful, and caring student that all enjoy being around. Humble and joyful, Elizabeth brings happiness to everyone around her. She makes our school a better place each and every day. We are proud to honor Elizabeth Hardcastle for her academic excellence, compassion, leadership, and the joy she spreads throughout our community.”
