Flagler County Emergency Management is hosting monthly Community Preparedness Workshops throughout 2026 to help residents learn how to keep their households safe and ready for emergencies.

The one-hour workshops provide general preparedness information, practical tips, and strategies for emergency planning. Sessions are offered at various times throughout the year to accommodate different schedules.

Emergency Management Director Jonathan Lord encouraged residents to attend. “This is a great way for residents to learn how to build a kit, make a plan, be informed, and get involved,” Lord said. “All workshops will be identical so you might want to take one now and a second, as a refresher, later in the year.”

The workshop schedule begins January 27 from 11 a.m. to noon. Additional sessions continue through the year with a February 23 workshop from 9 to 10 a.m., a March 19 session from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., and an April 21 workshop from 4 to 5 p.m. The schedule continues with sessions on May 14 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., June 10 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and July 16 from 10 to 11 a.m.

Later in the year, workshops are scheduled for August 17 from 2 to 3 p.m., September 16 from 3 to 4 p.m., October 16 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., November 2 from 9 to 10 a.m., and December 3 from 4 to 5 p.m.
