Local nonprofit hosts annual BOOty Bash with games, treats, and books for displaced youth

The Seawolf Privateers held their annual Pirate BOOty Bash celebration for local foster and displaced children, creating a day of Halloween fun and community support.

The event featured trick-or-treating, games, crafts, and food for children and their families. Local businesses and organizations set up tents to hand out treats and create activities for attendees.

Community Partners Make Event Possible

Several local groups contributed to the celebration by setting up tents and providing treats. Participating organizations included Flagler Sportfishing Club Kids 4 Reel Program, Pinch A Penny Pool Supplies, FL501st Legion Florida Garrison, A1A Bail Bonds, Toscana Neighbors, Captain’s BBQ, Elite Marine Construction, and Kuk Sool Won of Palm Coast.

Three tents won awards for their displays:

  • Best Overall: Kids 4 Reel
  • Best Halloween Theme: Elite Marine Construction
  • Best Not Spooky: Toscana Neighborhood

“Bringing smiles and joy to these children and families is truly priceless,” said Cayti Brinegar, Executive Director of Seawolf Privateers.

Books and Reading Promoted

A special feature this year was the Captain’s Cabin Storytime Tent, sponsored by the Seawolf Privateers. Children could choose books to take home, and each received a copy of “A Place in the Crew,” the third book in the Seawolf Privateers Adventure Series, written by Brinegar.

Captain’s BBQ and Eagle Pest Solutions sponsored many of the books to support literacy and reading. The book series focuses on themes including acceptance, blended families, friendship, and adjusting to new situations—topics that connect with the experiences of foster children.
