On Friday night, FCSO deputies and St. John County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Kalissa Markley, 18, of Satsuma, for possession of narcotics near Flagler Estates.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered a large crowd gathering for a bonfire. While advising the crowd to leave, deputies located Markley asleep in the passenger seat of a parked vehicle. When deputies woke her up, they discovered a bottle of alcohol and drug paraphernalia on the floorboard of the backseat.
After Markley exited the vehicle, deputies witnessed her drop a bag onto the ground and located a BB gun in her right pocket. Upon further investigation, deputies determined the bag she dropped contained cocaine and methamphetamine.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies also found a bag of marijuana, a jar of hashish, a digital scale, and more drug paraphernalia.
Markley was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, possession of hashish, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, and possession of liquor by a person under 21. She was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where she was released on a $2,000 bond.
“Flagler Estates is a remote area that straddles Flagler and St. Johns counties,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “She and her friends have now learned that we will not tolerate illegal behavior, no matter how remote it is. Do not trespass on private property to party, especially with narcotics, as you will be arrested and taken from the woods to the Green Roof Inn.”

On Saturday afternoon, deputies conducted a traffic stop after a vehicle failed to come to a complete stop on Mahogany Blvd. During the traffic stop, deputies arrested Jenni Paris, 38, of Bunnell, for an active Volusia County warrant for felony probation violation.
After being transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, deputies discovered that Paris had hidden multiple small bags of narcotics in her back pants pocket and inside her bra. Further investigation determined the bags contained cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine.
Paris, who has a history of drug possession, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, manufacture, or distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, manufacture, or distribute, possession of fentanyl, possession of drug paraphernalia, and an out-of-county warrant. She is currently being held at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility on a $9,500 bond.
“Another case of looking beyond the traffic stop to catch a criminal with an active warrant and trying to hide her drugs,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Let this be a warning to criminals: If you come into Flagler County with a warrant, know that our deputies are ready to take you to the Green Roof Inn.”

On Sunday afternoon, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call from a concerned citizen on Grand Avenue in Palm Coast. After conducting an investigation, deputies arrested Joshua Saidi, 39, of Palm Coast, once it was determined that he had assaulted a female victim.
During the investigation, deputies determined that an argument between Saidi and the victim began at a separate location the night before, after he started drinking heavily and taking the victim’s cell phone while accusing her of having an affair. The argument continued after they arrived at the residence on Grand Avenue the next morning. The victim had used a laptop to document the abuse.
Deputies also determined that Saidi had obtained a large knife during the argument, causing the victim to fear for her life. According to the victim, Saidi also struck her in the face while making several attempts to take the laptop. When she attempted to retreat to a nearby bedroom, he pushed open the door, striking her with the door and blocking her escape.
Aside from this most recent arrest, Saidi is well known to law enforcement in Volusia County, with a criminal history of burglary, battery, theft, and drug possession, among other charges.
Saidi was arrested for felony battery, domestic battery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and false imprisonment. He was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he is being held on a $45,000 bond.
“This case is an example of how dangerous a domestic argument can become,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Our deputies responded quickly to de-escalate the situation. Domestic abuse has no place in our community, and we will continue to hold abusers accountable.”
