By-Line: Julie Murphy, Flagler County Government

Solid waste and recycling guidelines for unincorporated Flagler County can be confusing, so officials are sharing the guidelines as a reminder. This does not apply to the municipalities of Bunnell, Flagler Beach, or Palm Coast.

Solid waste and recycling are collected between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. To ensure the collection service is not missed, please have all items at the curb before 6 a.m. on the individual address’s scheduled pickup day. Pickup times may vary due to unforeseen circumstances or the use of additional trucks on historically high-volume days.

The pickup schedule is available at: www.flaglercounty.gov/Government/Departments/Solid-Waste.

Yard Waste is

  • Collected on Wednesdays.
  • Limited to 4 cubic yards (approximately the size of a couch).
    • Additional fees apply for pickups that exceed the 4-cubic-yard limit and must be paid directly to Waste Pro.
  • Does not need to be bundled, tied, or containerized except for leaves (and loose debris of a similar size), which must be bagged or placed in containers.
  • Piles containing items that are longer than 5 feet or wider than 6 inches require a separate pickup.
    • These piles will be tagged, and an additional fee will be required to be paid directly to WastePro.
  • Contractor-generated yard waste (e.g., from tree trimming or land clearing services) will not be collected by Waste Pro unless the resident arranges for and pays for this service directly through Waste Pro.

Bulk Items are

  • They are collected on the second individual address scheduled pickup day each week. Bulk items include furniture and large household items.
  • There is a limit of two (2) bulk items per week.
  • Construction and demolition debris is not considered bulk and will not be collected as part of the regular collection service.
    • Residents are responsible for the proper disposal of construction and demolition debris, which can be arranged through WastePro for an additional fee.
