Today, September 20th, 2023, during a special meeting, the Palm Coast City Council had the the second public hearing on the 2023-2024 fiscal budget and millage rate. During the special meeting city staff was present to answer any further questions the council or the public had on the new proposed budget and millage rate. During Tuesday's morning City Business Meeting, July 18th, 2023, the council set the maximum millage rate to the rollback rate of 4.257 mils. The motion to set the millage rate was passed with a 3-2. The millage rate is the term used to talk about the property tax rate levied by a government, in this case the City of Palm Coast. So for every $1,000 dollars of property value, the property owner would pay $4.257 in taxes for the City of Palm Coast. Palm Coast City Council Approves Millage Rate and Final Budget

Tonight’s meeting went without much of a hitch, and the council was able to review again a brief overview of the 2022-2023 budget and millage rate. Ms. Alves and her associate presented a brief overview of the final budget with one minor adjustment due to rounding issues. The final proposed budget is to be $328,187,636 dollars, a three dollar increase from the last budget meeting at $328,187,633 dollars.
