Palm Coast to Move Forward with City Wide Speed Study and Florida Park Drive Study

Palm Coast City Council heard a resolution regarding a resolution to approve a contract with Kimley-Horn to conduct a residential speed limit study and an evaluation on Florida Park Drive during their Tuesday morning workshop meeting on January 9th, at 9am. Three proposals were received and after review City Staff determined that Kimley-Horn was the most qualified for the project. Kimley-Horn would evaluate the speed differential on Florida Park Drive, as well as conducting traffic diversion evaluations, crash predication analysis, and a speed reduction evaluation. This workshop covered presentations by FDOT, the strategic plan update as well as resolutions to review regarding Redefined Food Co's lease for the Southern Rec Center, a contract with Kimley-Horn for a residential speed study, and a State Fire Marshal Grant agreement. The Stormwater & Engineering Department would like to inform residents of an upcoming lane closure planned for the pedestrian path rehabilitation project located on Belle Terre Parkway near Buddy Taylor Middle School in Palm Coast. This lane closure will be in effect on September 7, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. during school operating hours. The closure is necessary as the contractor will be onsite to complete repairs.
