Flagler County starts sandbag operations at 2 locations Monday

November 6, 2022 – Flagler County officials are starting sandbag operations on the barrier island Monday as the two certainties about the weather system approaching – with elevated winds, higher tides, and surf – is that the Intracoastal Waterway will see tides about a foot above normal, and that the beach and dunes will take a pounding. "Hurricane Ian has significantly impacted our Atlantic Coast dune system," said Emergency Management Director Jonathan Lord. Friday Update on Depression #9 in the Caribbean

Tropical Depression #9 is set to become a tropical storm sometime today or late tonight. It is currently entering the Gulf where the NHC is expecting it to make a turn to Florida. It is still days out, and tracks can make drastic changes. Remember not to panic, and monitor the track and cone as the days go on. We will be posting updates as the NHC releases them over the weekend.
