A 27-year-old Palm Coast woman who was arrested in January 2025 for engaging in unwanted sexual intercourse with an underage victim has pleaded guilty and awaits sentencing.
Angel Sexton pleaded guilty to lewd or lascivious battery on December 17, 2025. Circuit Judge Dawn Nichols is scheduled to sentence Sexton on January 20, 2026. Prosecutors are seeking six years in a Florida Department of Corrections prison, followed by nine years of sexual offender probation. If sentenced as requested, Sexton would also be required to register as a sex offender.
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Major Case Unit investigated the case following Sexton’s arrest in early 2025.
Sheriff Rick Staly commented on the case. “This woman took the innocence away for a child for her own gratification, and I am glad that justice was served and that she is headed to prison,” Staly said. “I commend the victim who put an end to her advances and spoke up, and thank our Major Case Unit and our partners at the State Attorney’s Office for their work on this case to put another perverted person behind bars.”
The sentencing hearing will take place before Judge Nichols on January 20.
