The City of Palm Coast Parks and Recreation Department is offering a variety of youth and family programs at the Palm Coast Community Center during the first quarter of 2026.

The programs are designed to inspire learning, creativity, independence, and fun for families throughout the early months of the year. The lineup includes hands-on robotics, culinary exploration, real-world life skills training, and parent-friendly drop-off events.

Among the featured programs is IRL Skills, which stands for In Real Life Skills. This four-week course helps middle school students build confidence and independence as they prepare for adulthood. Participants explore essential topics such as financial literacy, kitchen safety, self-care, and personal responsibility while discovering new hobbies in a supportive environment. The program runs on Mondays from January 19 through February 9, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., and is open to students in grades 6 through 8. The fee is $50.

Robotics for Kids introduces children to the fundamentals of robotics and engineering using LEGO Education SPIKE Essentials. Through hands-on activities, participants strengthen problem-solving and teamwork skills. The program runs on Mondays from February 16 through March 9, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., and is open to children ages 7 through 11. The fee is $45.

Kids in the Kitchen is an after-school culinary program where children learn food safety, knife techniques, nutrition basics, and healthy cooking habits while preparing dishes from scratch. The program runs on Wednesdays from February 11 through March 4, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., and is open to children ages 8 through 12. The fee is $40.

For homeschool families, the Enrichment Block for Homeschoolers offers a three-hour session featuring art, cooking, physical recreation, and STEM activities with LEGO Education Robotics. The program runs on Mondays from February 2 through February 23, from noon to 3:00 p.m., and is open to students in kindergarten through third grade. The fee is $50.

Parents can enjoy a night off with Parents’ Night Out, where children participate in themed activities, pizza, games, and social time in a supervised setting. The program takes place on the third Friday of every month. Monthly themes include Winter Science in January, Ultimate Game Night in February, Ice Cream Party in March, Mini Vision Boards in April, and Super Mario Party in May.

Adults looking for a fun way to start the weekend can join Line Dancing with Laura on Fridays beginning February 6. The class features popular and classic dances for all skill levels. Participants should wear shoes that slide easily, and gym shoes are acceptable, but open-toe shoes are not allowed. For added convenience, Parents’ Night Out is offered at the same time on third Fridays for those needing childcare.

Registration for all programs is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents can visit parksandrec.fun or contact the Parks and Recreation Department for full program details or to register.
