The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a fugitive wanted in Lee County, Florida, who knew he had an active warrant and fled across the state in an attempt to avoid arrest.
On Sept. 19, the FCSO Fugitive Unit was contacted by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, who advised they had reason to believe that a fugitive from their county was possibly residing in Flagler County. The LCSO Fugitive Unit requested assistance to locate Christopher Connors, 50, who had an active arrest warrant in their jurisdiction for felony violation of probation with original charges of lewd or lascivious battery and lewd or lascivious exhibition.
Through investigative means, FCSO’s Fugitive Unit and K-9 Unit deputies located Connors at a gas station on North Ocean Shore Boulevard in Palm Coast. There, they observed Connors getting into the passenger seat of a white convertible. Deputies proceeded to follow the vehicle until Connors was dropped off at a residence on Shady Lane North in Palm Coast.
Deputies made contact with Connors at the residence, and he was arrested without incident. Connors told deputies he was aware that he had an active warrant and had fled to Flagler County because he was scared to go back to prison.
“Another fugitive thought he could hide out in Flagler County because they had an active warrant somewhere else in the state. Like all the others, he learned that that was a bad idea,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “We work with our law enforcement partners to make sure that nobody can hide in our county to avoid arrest. I commend our Fugitive Unit, K-9 Unit, and patrol deputies for their teamwork with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office to find this fugitive and take him to the Green Roof Inn.”
Deputies arrested Connors on his Lee County warrant. He was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he is being held without bond while awaiting extradition to Lee County.

Connors has been a registered sex offender since 2022, when he was convicted in Lee County for two counts of lewd or lascivious battery and two counts of lewd or lascivious exhibition. In addition, he also has an arrest history in Missouri for multiple offenses, including felony stealing, possession of a controlled substance, and DWI.
