The City of Palm Coast’s top three priorities focus on keeping residents safe from flooding and making it easier to get around the city. These include:

  • Creating a stormwater park near Fire Station 23 and Burroughs Drive which will help reduce flooding while offering green space for the community.
  • Widening Old Kings Road – Phase 2A, giving drivers a safer, faster option and serving as an important alternative to I-95 during emergencies.
  • Expanding stormwater storage in the Woodlands neighborhood to protect homes and streets during heavy rains.

“These are all resiliency and stormwater-related infrastructure projects that we need help with,” said Mayor Norris. “We really appreciate what we got last year, because we can’t do it alone. We need your support.”

Other priorities the City is pursuing include lowering the Seminole Woods Dry Lake Weir to reduce stormwater pressure, partnering with Flagler County on animal shelter needs, dredging the saltwater canals, advancing Old Kings Road Widening – Phase 3, and preserving historic Fire Station 22 as part of Palm Coast’s heritage.

At the close of the meeting, Mayor Norris and Council Member Miller presented Senator Leek and Representative Greco with keys to the city as a gesture of thanks for their support during the 2025 legislative session.

“We’d like to present you with a key to the city for your accomplishments during the last legislative session and for fulfilling some of our requests,” Mayor Norris added. “Thank you very much, gentlemen, and we appreciate your continued support.”

The City of Palm Coast looks forward to continuing to work closely with state leaders to deliver projects that directly improve residents’ daily lives. The countywide legislative priorities booklet distributed at the meeting includes a detailed overview of the city’s priorities. A digital copy will be shared as soon as it is available.
