Two Women Arrested for DUIs During Increased Enforcement Period
During Memorial Day weekend, FCSO deputies conducted increased enforcement to deter drunk driving. Deputies made two DUI arrests during the enforcement period.
On Saturday night, while responding to a weapons complaint on Holly Lane in Bunnell, deputies encountered Renee Vaudreuil, 59, of Bunnell, who had approached them on an all-terrain vehicle to ask what was going on. While speaking with Vaudreuil, deputies noticed an odor of alcohol coming from her breath and signs of intoxication including slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and difficulty keeping balance. Deputies then conducted a field sobriety test, which Vaudreuil failed.
As a result, they arrested Vaudreuil for DUI. She was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility and was later released on a $1,000 bond.
In the early morning hours on Sunday, deputies patrolling County Road 305 in Bunnell observed a vehicle swerve off the road nearly hitting a mailbox. After conducting a traffic stop on the vehicle, deputies determined the driver, Mae Ann Grace Rozelle, 38, of Bunnell, was driving under the influence of alcohol.
During the investigation, deputies detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from Rozelle. She also displayed signs of impairment during a field sobriety test, including slurred speech and an unsteady gait.
After failing the field sobriety test, deputies arrested Rozelle for DUI. She was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility and was later released on a $1,000 bond.
“Ahead of Memorial Day weekend, I warned drivers that our deputies would be out in full force to keep our roadways safe from drunk drivers, but these two missed my message,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “There is never an excuse to drink and drive, whether you’re behind the wheel of a car or an ATV, and these ladies earned themselves stays at the Green Roof Inn with their dangerous actions.”

Woman Arrested for Narcotics Possession Tries to Throw Away Evidence in Patrol Vehicle
On Monday night, deputies conducting proactive patrols initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that drove through a stop sign at Rose Drive and Rolling Sands Drive in Palm Coast. While deputies were speaking with the driver, Tram Nguyen, 37, of Palm Coast, K-9 Kyro alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies found eight small plastic bags containing marijuana, which were individually packaged for sale, hidden within the engine bay under an unsecured plastic engine cover. Deputies arrested Nguyen for possession of marijuana with intent to sell, manufacture, or deliver and transported her to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility.
While in the patrol vehicle on the way to the jail, Nguyen was seen on camera removing an item from her pants, throwing it on the floor, and kicking it under the partition in front of her. After removing Nguyen from the vehicle, deputies found a plastic bag containing 28 grams of methamphetamine under the partition.
“This woman thought she could outsmart our deputies, first by hiding drugs in the engine of her car thinking they wouldn’t find it then by hiding more drugs in her pants and throwing it away in the back of a deputy’s patrol car thinking he wouldn’t see it,” Sheriff Staly said. “Unfortunately for her, our deputies are highly trained, and these kinds of tricks won’t work on them!”

Deputies additionally arrested Nguyen for trafficking in amphetamine and tampering with evidence. She is being held on a $160,000 bond.
