Darryl Boyer, a Flagler County Native, has worked as a staffer in the Florida House of Representatives and has officially decided to throw his hat in the ring as a candidate for the District 19 seat. District 19 represents all of Flagler County and Part of St. John's. Darryl's background includes time in the foster system as a child due to his biological mother's struggles with addiction and domestic abuse. Flagler County takes a collaborative approach as it presents its 2023 legislative priorities to state delegation

January 30, 2023 – Flagler County took a slightly different approach in presenting its 2023 legislative priorities to the state delegation – Senator Travis Hutson and House Speaker Paul Renner – in that it made the process more collaborative with its municipalities to ensure a unified approach that represents all its residents. Commissioners Leann Pennington, Greg Hansen sworn into office – Hansen elected Chair, Andy Dance elected Vice Chair

November 23, 2022 – Newly elected Commissioner Leann Pennington, District 4, and twice elected Commissioner Greg Hansen, District 2, were sworn into office by County Judge Melissa Distler. "This is a big day for us," Hansen said before taking the Oath of Office. Commissioner Andy Dance nominated Hansen to chair the Board of County Commissioners. He was elected unanimously.
