Driver Rescued from Burning Car after crash on SR 100 by Deputies and Citizens

Sunday Morning, February 12th, 2023 at around 3am, a grey sedan collided with a semi truck. The sedan was heavily and severely damaged and due to the impact, caught fire. When FCSO arrived they found the passenger of the vehicle lying on the ground, while the driver of the vehicle was still inside. FCSO Corporal Barnett used his agency-issued fire extinguisher to calm the fire, while FCSO Deputy Pierre and citizens worked to free the driver from the vehicle. Flagler County Fire Rescue staffed with ‘Hometown Heroes’

November 3, 2022 – Three of Flagler County Fire Rescue's own were honored recently by the Daytona Beach News-Journal as "Hometown Heroes" at its fourth annual gala. Recognition was given to Firefighter-Paramedic Andy Thomas, Lt. Andrew Hardesty, and Lt. Jon Moscowitz – who was additionally named Hometown Hero of the Year. The event that was held on October 28 honored 30 outstanding first responders from Volusia and Flagler counties.
