Today, Tuesday July 18th at 9am, the Palm Coast City Council held their morning 9am meeting. Among the agenda items was the 'FPL Franchise Fee' that has been being talked about in recent news. The City Council heard the subject again today, and the City Attorney did mention that in order to table this matter for a later meeting they would need a majority vote. Vice Mayor Danko then made a motion to have the matter tabled to the next meeting which is August 1st at 6pm, so that more residents could be in attendance to have their voices heard.…

Public comment opened up the City Council meeting on the 6th of December. A commenter is concerned about heavy traffic on Cimarron Dr and no sidewalks no place for bicycles, kids, dog walkers, and she feels this is dangerous. She wishes to see speed bumps, monitors and sidewalks put in. Another commenter brought up unfair signage; if some signs are not allowed, then none should be allowed. Palm Coast City Council Approves Millage Rate and Final Budget

Tonight’s meeting went without much of a hitch, and the council was able to review again a brief overview of the 2022-2023 budget and millage rate. Ms. Alves and her associate presented a brief overview of the final budget with one minor adjustment due to rounding issues. The final proposed budget is to be $328,187,636 dollars, a three dollar increase from the last budget meeting at $328,187,633 dollars. The council voted on the State Road 100 Community Redevelopment Agency Budget, and it passed 4-1 with Councilman Danko being the only no vote. The council then proposed the final millage rate…

Thursday September 8th the council held a special meeting to adopt a tentative millage rate and budget.  This does not mean that the budget and millage rate is set in stone yet, but it appears to be the path that the council is walking down.   Council heard a presentation on the proposed budget along with any increases that will take place from the 2022-year to the 2023-year.  Here is a brief overview of some of the increases in departments:  Water/Wastewater budget increased 13%, Building Find increased 9.4%, Solid Waste fund increased 55%, IT increased 30%.
